Fiber Optic Cable Types

The suitability of each type for a particular application depends on the fiber optic cable s characteristics.

Fiber optic cable types.

There are three types of fiber optic cable commonly used. It is frequently used for communication systems due to the clarity it provides. Fiber optic communication equipment typically sends data in one direction on a cable. So for bi directional communication hardware typically uses duplex cable.
